2.3.5.3. Start HBase and ZooKeeper Services

Start the HBase and ZooKeeper services:

On the HBase Master Server host:

su -l $HBASE_USER -c "/usr/lib/hbase/bin/hbase-daemon.sh --config /etc/hbase/conf start master"

On each RegionServer host:

su -l $HBASE_USER -c "/usr/lib/hbase/bin/hbase-daemon.sh --config /etc/hbase/conf start regionserver" 

On the ZooKeeper host:

su - $ZOOKEEPER_USER -c "export  ZOOCFGDIR=/etc/zookeeper/conf;
                    export ZOOCFG=zoo.cfg; source /etc/zookeeper/conf/zookeeper-env.sh; 
                    /usr/lib/zookeeper/bin/zkServer.sh start"

If the configuration is successful, you should see the following in your ZooKeeper server logs:
